Bottledwater has now become a necessity for all of us. For the sake of cleanliness and
health, as far as possible, we all buy and drink bottled water outside the
house. We buy water of many brands like Bisleri, Aquafina, Kinley, Kingfisher.
Generally, we all must have heard many customers saying to the shopkeeper,
'Brother, give me mineral water.' But in reality, is the water you are buying
mineral water? How to identify mineral water? We give you the answers to both
these questions, just have some patience.
Generally we buy packaged drinkingwater
The water webuy from the market is basically of two types. One is packaged drinking water
and the other is mineral water. Generally, the water we buy is packaged
drinking water, not mineral water. Now the question arises that what is the
difference between the two?
Packaged drinking water
If understood in simple language, packaged drinking water is actually clean
drinking water, that's all. Whatever water we are buying by paying Rs 20, 30,
40, it is packaged drinking water. It is prepared by purifying tap water. Just
like we clean water with the water purifier installed in our house. Companies
use chemical processes like reverse osmosis to purify water and then pack it in
bottles. Minerals are normal in this water. Some packaged drinking water plant manufacturer work on increasing minerals and some donot.
Mineral Water
Companieswork a little harder on this water. The name is mineral water, so full care is
taken of the mineral elements in it. This water is taken from such natural
sources, where the water contains beneficial mineral elements. Natural springs
and fountains are its main sources. Apart from this, when this water is
purified, separate minerals are also added to it. Technically this water is
better in both taste and health. But its price is also high. Generally, a
bottle of mineral water is available in the market at a price of more than Rs
100.
Mineral water can be identified fromthe bottle, it is packaged drinking.
Bureau ofIndian Standards is the standards body of the country which sets standards for
various products in every sector. BIS has set separate standards for both
packaged drinking and mineral water. There is coding for this in clear words
even on the packaging of the bottle. By looking at this coding, you can also
know whether the bottle you have purchased is packaged drinking water or
mineral water.
Be sure to check this mark on thebottle
While buyingwater, pay attention to the packaging of the bottle and the tag attached to it.
The bottle which has IS:14543 mark is packaged drinking water. Whereas if there
is IS:13428 mark on the bottle, it simply means that it is mineral water.
